چکیده

In this paper, the parameterization of bi-directional reflectances of vegetation is made possible by using multi-temporal SPOT satellite images. Five SPOT images scanned within two weeks are used. The woods near the Taichung port in central Taiwan are selected. An atmospheric correction model is applied to remove the atmospheric effect of the satellite images. Aerosol optical depth (AOD) is retrieved from dense dark target of the image. The linear bi-directional reflectance model developed by Roujean et al. (1992) is used to parameterization the bi-directional reflectances of woods. The results show that the standard error between simulated reflectance and atmospheric-effect-corrected BRF can be less than 0.01 in all three XS bands. By using this retrieved bi-directional reflectance model of vegetation, the bi-directional effect of vegetation can be reduced.

ARTICLE IN PRESS Quality assessment and improvement of temporally composited products of remotely sensed imagery by combination of VEGETATION 1 and 2 images

Global temporal composites of surface reflectances are among the most commonly used products of wide field-of-view satellite-borne instruments such as the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR), the MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and VEGETATION. The multi-temporal and spatial consistencies of these composites are key elements for their usefulness. In this paper,...

Bio-geophysical land surface parameters derived from ADEOS-2/POLDER-2 multi-angular measurements

Monitoring of terrestrial vegetation from satellites at global and regional scales requires accurate and frequent measurements of surface reflectance. In this context, the POLDER instrument leads a key improvement providing, at high temporal resolution, measurements of the Bi-directional Reflectance Distribution Function corrected for atmospheric effects. In the frame of the ADEOS2/POLDER-2 pro...

An Operational Scheme for Deriving Standardised Surface Reflectance from Landsat TM/ETM+ and SPOT HRG Imagery for Eastern Australia

Operational monitoring of vegetation and land surface change over large areas can make good use of satellite sensors that measure radiance reflected from the Earth’s surface. Monitoring programs use multiple images for complete spatial coverage over time. Accurate retrievals of vegetation cover and vegetation change estimates can be hampered by variation, in both space and time, in the measured...
